Job summary

C3 Limited in Tauranga is seeking experienced Straddle Crane Operators to safely move containers at Sulphur Point. You’ll operate a straddle crane from an elevated cab, with radio communication to your team, and you’ll join a 24/7 port operation.

Training is provided if crane experience is not essential; long shifts including nights and weekends are required, and you must live locally or have accommodation nearby. Physical work includes climbing an 11-metre ladder and strict safety adherence.

Qualifications

• Minimum Full Class 1 driver licence or higher.
• Comfortable working at heights.
• Flexibility and reliability.
• Strong communication skills (radio).
• Good time management and ability to work unsupervised.
• Ability to meet operational deadlines.
• Commitment to follow standard operating procedures.
• Strict adherence to all health and safety requirements.
• Physically capable – able to climb an 11 metre ladder.

Responsibilities

• Operate a straddle crane to move containers within the terminal.
• Communicate with the team via radio while performing duties.
• Work 24/7 night/day shifts and weekends when rostered.
• Attend training and simulator-based sessions as required.
• Adhere to safety, SOPs and fatigue management policies.
