Job summary

The Auckland Softball Association Incorporated is seeking an energetic Community Activator to lead on-the-ground softball programs in South East Auckland, engaging tamariki and rangatahi and connecting schools, clubs, and whānau.

You will deliver skill clinics, form partnerships, and embed wellbeing education while coordinating regional events and volunteer coaching development. This 12-month fixed-term role offers rolling interviews and ongoing community impact.

Qualifications

• Youth mentoring passion
• Excellent communication skills with diverse stakeholders
• Solid grasp of fundamental movement skills; coaching certs bonus
• Highly organised with logistics and admin skills
• Valid full driver’s licence and reliable transport

Responsibilities

• Deliver fun, engaging skill clinics and modified games in targeted schools, including high-deprivation areas
• Build partnerships with schools, clubs, whānau and community groups to grow participation outside school hours
• Embed health, active lifestyle and wellbeing education into coaching to build teamwork and leadership
• Manage on-the-ground logistics for intra-school competitions, zone programmes and regional events
• Host regional coaching clinics and workshops to upskill local volunteer coaches and teachers
