Job summary

Oranga Tamariki Rotorua invites applications for a busy site where you will engage with tamariki and whānau, uphold mana and whānau-centred approaches, collaborate with hapū, iwi and community providers, and contribute to transformational change in care and protection.

The role requires a fully registered social worker, practical experience with whānau in complex environments, and the ability to work within Māori and indigenous practice models, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and cross‑agency

Qualifications

• Fully registered social worker with current practising certificate.
• Experience working with tamariki and whānau in complex environments.
• Confidence in working within Māori, Pasifika and indigenous models of practice.
• Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in practice.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with whānau and community.
• Clear, confident decision-making and accountability for practice.
• Collaborative approach within a multi-agency environment.

• Build trusted relationships with whānau, hapū, iwi and community partners.
• Assess concerns and make sound, evidence-based decisions to support safety and wellbeing.

Your mahi will include:

• Fully registered social worker with a current practising certificate
• Experience working alongside tamariki and whānau in complex environments
