Job summary

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children is seeking a permanent, full-time Social Worker in Panmure, Tamāki Makaurau. The role focuses on safeguarding tamariki and rangatahi, working with families and partner agencies to meet needs and promote wellbeing.

You will join a supportive team and engage in ongoing professional development while delivering compassionate, culturally informed services to communities across Auckland.

Qualifications

• Registration with NZ's SWRB or able to register.
• A current Annual Practising Certificate.
• A social worker qualification recognised by the SWRB.
• A full, clean NZ driver's licence.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated resilience, problem solving techniques and flexibility.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Strong PC and Microsoft Office Suite skills with excellent report writing skills.
• Understanding of cross-cultural practices; knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pacific cultures.

• Ensure the needs of the child or young person and family are fully met.
