Job summary

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children is seeking a dedicated Social Worker for a permanent, fulltime role based at the Grey Lynn Office in central Auckland. You will work with children, young people and their families to ensure their wellbeing is safeguarded and they have every opportunity to thrive.

In this fast-paced role you will collaborate with other social services and agencies to fully meet the needs of the child or young person and family, bringing knowledge, empathy and strong

Qualifications

• Registration with NZ Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB) or eligible to register.
• A social worker qualification recognised by the SWRB.
• A full, clean, current driver's licence.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated resilience, problem solving and flexibility.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Strong PC and Microsoft Office Suite skills with report writing.
• Understanding of tikanga Māori and Pacific cultures.

Key requirements of the role include:

• A social worker qualification recognised by the SWRB

• Demonstrated resilience, problem solving techniques and flexibility
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Strong PC and Microsoft Office Suite skills with excellent report writing skills
• Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
