Job summary

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children is seeking qualified, registered social workers to advance the wellbeing of tamariki and rangatahi across Ōtāhuhu. Join a dynamic team dedicated to giving tamariki a voice, safety and connection to family and community.

Qualifications

• Registration with NZ SWRB or eligible to register.
• Current annual practicing certificate.
• SWRB-recognised social work degree.
• Understanding of cross-cultural practice, tikanga Māori and Pacific cultures.
• Full, clean, current driver’s licence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Resilience, problem-solving and flexibility.
• Strong PC skills including report writing.

Responsibilities

• Meet with tamariki, rangatahi and whānau to assess needs and plan interventions.
• Complete assessments, formulate intervention plans and participate in hui-ā-whānau and family group conferences.
• Partner with agencies, community groups and iwi to improve outcomes for tamariki and rangatahi.
• Document assessments and maintain case records with accuracy.
