Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children in Alexandra is hiring a qualified, registered social worker to focus on tamariki and rangatahi wellbeing. You will conduct needs assessments, attend hui-ā-whānau and family group conferences, and collaborate with agencies to craft intervention plans that support families.
Success requires SWRB registration, a recognised social work qualification, a valid NZ driver’s licence, and strong written/verbal communication along with empathy and analytical skills.

Due to one of our kaimahi moving locations to another site, we have a vacancy for a qualified, registered, and experienced social worker who wants to make a real difference by putting tamariki and rangatahi at the heart of everything they do.
Our team of practitioners are a diverse and innovative group of practitioners who work closely together and share our Oranga Tamariki values. As part of our team, you will spend your day meeting with tamariki, rangatahi and their family and whānau listening to what they have to say, completing assessments of need, participating in hui-ā-whānau and family group conferences to support the development of intervention plans, and partnering with other agencies, community groups and local iwi in a creative manner to improve outcomes.
