Hamilton Girls' High School invites applications for an Assistant Teacher of Social Studies with History and/or Senior Social Studies. This is a fixed-term, full-time maternity-leave role from 28 January 2027 to 27 January 2028, covering Secondary years 7–15 and wharekura.

NZ registered teachers with NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa are required. The successful candidate will contribute to Te Pou Ārahi framework, collaborate on curriculum planning, and support high standards of achievement

Qualifications

• NZ registered teacher with current practicing certificate.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti Waitangi and inclusive practice.
• Willingness to contribute to curriculum planning and school vision.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Social Studies lessons for years 7–15 and wharekura.
• Collaborate with staff to plan engaging curricula and assessments.
• Support student learning, behaviour and wellbeing, and contribute to a positive school culture.
