Job description

Senior Winning Work Consultant – New Zealand

At Aurecon, we are optimistic about the future. We are thinkers, solvers, and collaborators who work with our clients to deliver the infrastructure and assets that strengthen communities and create a sustainable future.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Winning Work Consultant in our locally based Winning Work New Zealand team, you’ll join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract providing parental leave cover. You’ll play a key role in helping Aurecon identify, shape and pursue major opportunities across Aotearoa New Zealand. You’ll work closely with Industry and Client Leaders, portfolio teams and bid teams, bringing strategic thinking, facilitation and hands‑on bid support from engage and pursuit through to debrief.

You’ll be part of the broader Winning Work ANZ team, collaborating with experienced specialists across APAC and creative support teams to deliver high-quality, client‑focused submissions and presentations. While the role is New Zealand focused, you’ll also contribute to cross‑market initiatives aligned to business priorities.

  • Bid strategy – work with industry directors and client leaders to understand client needs, develop winning strategies and help Aurecon stand out.
  • Bid management – manage efficient and effective bid programmes, keeping internal and external deadlines on track and coordinating reviews and SME inputs.
  • Bid writing – partner with technical SMEs and bid teams to produce high-quality, bespoke content that clearly responds to client and project needs.
  • Commercial insight – contribute to commercial discussions, provide practical advice and translate commercial strategy into compelling bid documentation.
  • Client presentations – support the development of high-quality, on‑brand client presentations and coach technical teams before they meet our clients.
  • Bid feedback – facilitate debriefs and lessons learnt sessions, analyse bid performance and identify trends to improve future submissions and success rates.
What you’ll bring

We know the work we do is vital in assisting our world’s economic and social development. It’s the technical expertise, creativity and depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a diverse team in a dynamic environment and can bring ideas to life through strong relationships, clear communication and effective bid leadership.

You’ll ideally bring at least three years of bid‑related experience, preferably within Aotearoa New Zealand, with confidence managing bids independently across different sectors or markets.

  • An authentically positive attitude and willingness to contribute across the business
  • Strong bid and content management skills
  • Strong technical writing skills and the ability to turn complex inputs into clear, client‑focused content
  • Proven facilitation experience, with the ability to manage and capture inputs effectively
  • Experience working digitally on opportunities across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand
  • The ability to communicate effectively and build relationships across all levels of an organisation
  • Confidence advocating for best‑practice bid approaches and constructively challenging content to ensure it meets client needs
Nice to have
  • A relevant qualification in communications, marketing or a business‑related field
  • Relevant certification such as APMP Foundation or higher
  • Experience working in a professional consultancy environment
