Job summary

Stantec's Water team in New Zealand seeks an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to lead major water projects across NZ and Australia. The role offers involvement in drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and groundwater programs, with strong career development and support from a global design resource network.

You will join an established, multi-disciplinary team, contribute to proposals, and oversee technical delivery while collaborating with clients across the country.

Qualifications

• Chartered Professional Engineer with tertiary engineering qualification.
• 10 years of experience in civil engineering.
• Proven track record delivering stormwater, water and/or wastewater projects.
• Collaborative approach with clients and colleagues across the country.
• Ability to develop strong internal and external client relationships.
• Ability to oversee all aspects of project delivery and technical delivery oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery on a range of water projects to ensure outputs meet budget, schedule and quality targets.
• Develop proposals and help win local and international work.
• Engage with clients to understand needs and influence project outcomes.
• Mentor and develop team members to advance technical capabilities.
• Prepare cost estimates, tender documents, and project reports.
• Plan, programme and write reports for projects.
• Coordinate resources to ensure design work is adequately resourced and quality controlled.
