For over 60 years we have been delivering solutions for major infrastructure projects across NZ, Australia, and the wider Asia-Pacific — connecting communities to enhance resilience and prosperity. We are proud to have contributed to some of New Zealand's largest transport infrastructure projects, including City Rail Link, Ōtaki to North of Levin, and Te Ara Tupua Alliance.

At T+T, we believe it's our people that keep clients coming back. Our people are known for being humble high achievers — delivering award-winning solutions, working collaboratively, and achieving exceptional outcomes. They are our greatest asset, and we invest in their development, wellbeing, and career aspirations.

Kei te hiahia mātou ki ōu pūkenga | We want your skills

This is a Senior Transport Engineer role with real scope. You'll work across T+T disciplines and directly with clients, while taking a hands‑on role in developing the engineers around you - the kind of position where you can genuinely leave your mark on both the team and the work.

Based in Auckland, you'll contribute to a strong pipeline of meaningful work including major regional infrastructure programmes and local government projects, with the opportunity to shape future opportunities for the team and wider business.

If you value technical excellence, purpose-driven work, and collaborative problem-solving - we'd love to hear from you.

Ngā mahi me ngā kawenga | Tasks and responsibilities
  • Lead the technical delivery of transport and land development infrastructure projects — from road safety auditing through to the design of major transport networks
  • Work across a diverse range of project environments including alliances, design‑build, and traditional consultancy delivery
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring to intermediate and graduate engineers, helping to grow capability within the team
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with public and private sector clients, contributing to business development and growth
  • Collaborate across disciplines, bringing a transport lens to wider infrastructure, urban development, water, energy, and land use projects
  • Contribute to the team's market presence and support the development of new client relationships and opportunities
Nā tōu rourou | What you'll bring
  • 10+ years' experience delivering high‑quality traffic and transport engineering projects
  • Proven ability to work with and across a wide range of disciplines
  • Proficiency in relevant industry tools and software, including a design package (e.g. OpenRoads, Autodesk suite), traffic modelling software (e.g. SIDRA), and Safe System Assessments
  • Strong knowledge and application of relevant New Zealand design standards
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and membership of a professional institute
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build a strong team ethos and deliver high‑quality client outcomes
  • Evidence of business development capability and client relationship management
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused attitude and genuine passion for contributing to sustainable and resilient communities
We'll back your growth
  • A diverse range of complex, meaningful, and high‑profile projects
  • A supportive, solutions‑focused design culture where your leadership is valued
  • Opportunities to broaden your skillset across multiple disciplines and sectors
  • Mentoring, formal training, and ongoing professional development support
  • A workplace where your achievements are recognised and celebrated
Ngā Hua | Our benefits
  • Exposure to large‑scale alliance projects as well as locally focused community initiatives
  • A highly supportive team environment where you are encouraged to shape your own career path
  • Professional memberships and continuing education support
  • Flexible working culture, including part‑time options and the ability to purchase extra leave
  • Internal training and mentoring programmes
  • $750 annual wellbeing allowance and wellbeing programme
  • Active social club, free fruit, and morning teas (we take morning tea seriously at T+T!)
  • Additional parental leave, salary top‑up, and back‑to‑work coaching
  • Modern, state‑of‑the‑art Auckland offices

T+T is not only a place to work — it's a place where your work will make a difference. 'Everyone Matters' is one of our three core values at T+T, and we are committed to attracting and retaining a diverse workforce who foster inclusion, participation, and equal opportunity.
