Job summary

Accentuate Consulting in Auckland, NZ, is seeking a senior Technical Business Analyst to bridge business needs and technical delivery. You’ll capture, analyse and translate requirements into clear artefacts for architecture, development and test teams, working closely with Heads of Delivery and Engineering.

This is a technical BA role, not a Process BA role, requiring experience with software or AI projects and a solid understanding of SDLC and agile delivery.

Qualifications

• Background in software development, technical writing, or systems/solution analysis.
• Experience translating requirements into actionable artefacts for architecture, development and test teams.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery.

The role

This is a senior, highly visible Technical Business Analyst role reporting to the Head of Delivery, working closely with the Head of Engineering. You'll bridge business needs and technical delivery — capturing, analysing and translating requirements into clear, actionable artefacts for architecture, development and test teams. This is a technical BA role, not a Process BA role: you'll be working at the requirements/solution-design level, not mapping business processes.

What you'll do

• Gather, analyse and validate technical requirements for custom software and AI projects
• Translate business needs into requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria that development teams can build from
• Own the accuracy and clarity of documented requirements
• Identify opportunities for improvement and flag risks early
• Consult and align stakeholders across the business and delivery teams to support well-informed decisions
• Work across the full SDLC, partnering closely with architecture, engineering and test leads

What you’ll bring

• Background in software development, technical writing, systems/solution analysis, or technical business analysis
• Comfortable working with technical specs, API contracts, or data models, not just process maps
• Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery, and solution design
• Recent experience on business-critical software or AI projects for large national or international clients
• A track record of translating requirements into high-quality outcomes that meet business goals
