Job description

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week

The remuneration range for this role is $80,369 to $113,462 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience

The opportunity

This role leads the delivery of high-quality leak detection services that reduce water loss and improve network reliability. You’ll combine advanced field investigations with technical leadership, coaching, and analytical insight. You will guide consistent methodologies, champion continuous improvement, and support proactive asset management. Working across internal teams, contractors, and customers, you’ll help ensure safe, reliable drinking water across the region.

Key responsibilities include the following:
  • Develop and deliver leak detection plans and advanced investigations across the network
  • Conduct leak surveys, analyse water loss data, and provide accurate reporting
  • Lead, coach and mentor Technical Advisors to uplift capability and consistency
  • Liaise with customers, resolve private property leaks, and support water efficiency
  • Support incident response, allocate repair work, and ensure strong stakeholder engagement
About You

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Relevant technical or trade qualification and a Full NZ Class 1 Driver Licence
  • Strong experience in the water industry with advanced leak detection expertise
  • Proven ability to analyse complex network issues and make informed decisions
  • Confident communicator skilled in customer and stakeholder engagement
  • High attention to detail, strong planning skills and a continuous improvement mindset
