Job summary

Xero is looking for a senior software engineer to lead the delivery of customer-focused software solutions that power partner tools. You will navigate ambiguity, own outcomes, and influence engineering direction with data-driven decisions.

You will work with an engineering team to build full-stack features using React, Redux, C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server, refactor legacy systems on AWS, and explore AI-assisted development to create new value, with on-call duties for reliability.

Qualifications

• Deep technical expertise across C#, ASP.NET Core, modern frontend frameworks like React, and SQL Server data modelling.
• Proven experience in building and implementing AI tools into production environments delivering real impact to the business/customers.
• A background in architecture, implementation and refactoring of distributed systems using REST APIs on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Build full-stack features with React, Redux, C#, ASP.NET and SQL Server.
• Refactor monolithic systems; balance WebForms with modern AWS architectures.
• Research and prototype AI-assisted development tools to improve workflows.
• Participate in on-call roster and incident response for 24/7 reliability.
