Job summary

Dawn Aerospace in Christchurch, New Zealand, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Business Automation to design, build, and maintain software that runs the company. The role spans ERP, MES and internal systems, with a strong emphasis on end-to-end ownership and cross-team collaboration.

You will work across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, finance and operations to deliver practical software solutions that directly affect how we design, build and fly our space hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 3+ years' professional experience in full-stack software development.
• Strong TypeScript development experience.
• Experience designing, building and maintaining production software systems.
• Ability to work across technical and non-technical teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to own outcomes

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain business-critical software across the full stack.
• Develop frontend and backend applications that support the Spaceplane programme.
• Design and maintain databases and supporting infrastructure.
• Create intuitive user experiences that enable teams to work more effectively.
• Build and maintain reliable cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines and operational tooling.
• Own the roadmap and priorities for Dawn's internal business systems.
• Work directly with teams across the company to understand challenges and deliver practical software solutions.
• Take projects from idea to implementation, with a high degree of autonomy and ownership
