Job summary

Ara Poutama Aotearoa - Department of Corrections in Auckland Prison is seeking a Manager Psychological Services to lead a dedicated psychology team supporting OCRU and PERU. The role is based at Auckland Prison and oversees four psychologists (0.5 FTE each) in a high-security, complex-risk environment.

Qualifications

• Registration with the NZ Psychologists Board and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
• Extensive experience in correctional, forensic, or other complex risk-focused environments.
• Strong capability in psychological assessment, formulation, risk management and professional supervision.
• Experience leading and developing psychologists or other professional staff.
• Ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder groups.
• Provide trusted advice that informs decision-making and service improvement.

• Lead and support the psychology team, governance, and service development.
• Contribute to the delivery and governance of high-quality psychological services.
