Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Project Manager in New Zealand to provide strategic advisory from project conception through delivery. You will help establish success criteria, govern processes, and lead cross-functional teams through detailed planning and procurement.

You will monitor performance via KPIs, manage change control, and oversee project finances while maintaining strong client interfaces across all stages of the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Professionally qualified in one of the listed fields.
  • Experience with Office Fit-out / Renovation projects is a plus.
  • Understanding of the full project life cycle from conception to post-project review.

Responsibilities

  • Advise at a strategic level at project conception, guiding approaches to achieve client objectives.
  • Lead establishment of overall success criteria (time, cost, technical & performance).
  • Plan and manage quality, safety, health and environment issues.
  • Establish project governance, processes and systems to be used across the project.
  • Plan the project, ensuring a detailed project plan is produced.
  • Advise on resources procurement and lead the cross-functional project team.
  • Monitor and apply performance management techniques using KPIs.
  • Manage change control process.
  • Monitor and advise on project finances.
  • Coordinate project information flow between team and client through meetings and reports.
  • Lead interface with client and other consultants at all stages.

Job Description

  • Advising at a strategic level at the project conception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the client's overall objectives.
  • Leading the establishment of the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters.
  • Planning for and the ongoing management of quality, safety, health and environment issues.
  • Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout project.
  • Project planning, including ensuring the production of the detailed project plan.
  • Advising upon the procurement of resources. Leading and facilitating the overall cross-functional project team.
  • Monitoring and applying performance management techniques, including the use of KPI's to improve project performance.
  • Managing the change control process.
  • Monitoring and advising upon project finances.
  • Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Ensuring the production of formal project progress and other reports.
  • Taking a leading role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.

Qualifications

  • Professionally qualified in one of the following fields: construction, project management, engineering, surveying, architecture.
  • Experienced in Office Fit-out / Renovation projects would be a plus
  • A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from project conception stage, through all of the operational stages to completion and post-project review.
  • Design, management or construction experience gained within the general construction environment.
