Job summary

Stantec in New Zealand seeks a Senior Power Project Manager to lead the delivery of Power Delivery projects across the country, from planning through construction. You will work with clients, project teams, technical specialists and contractors to ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery.

This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and mentoring capabilities to grow the Power Delivery portfolio and develop future leaders within a global engineering firm.

Qualifications

• 15 years relevant PM experience in power/utilities.
• Proven experience managing utility, power systems, substation and/or transmission projects.
• Strong PM capabilities across planning, execution, financials, risk, quality, resourcing and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships and deliver high service.
• Leadership experience to mentor project managers and delivery professionals.
• Strategic leadership and change management capabilities.
• Excellent communication with clients, specialists, contractors and leaders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline.
• CPEng or working towards chartership preferred.
• PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Protect health and safety of employees, clients, and public per guidelines.
• Maintain and enhance reputation with clients and industry professionals.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams from planning through to construction services for Power Delivery projects.
• Identify resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives; manage costs and schedule.
• Lead by example with risk, project and quality management policies.
• Provide mentoring and training for future leaders and succession planning.
• Develop client relationships to facilitate project activities.
• Promote collaboration across business lines and geographies.
