Job summary

Randstad is seeking a senior Database Administrator focusing on PostgreSQL and AWS cloud services to manage, optimise, and secure database environments. You will design solutions for Aurora-based global deployments and work with CDK and CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliability.

You will collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product owners in an Agile SAFe framework, handle DR planning, and drive automation with Python/Bash scripting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of AWS technologies and experience with AWS database services (RDS, Aurora).
• Experience with spatial databases and geospatial data, particularly PostGIS.
• Experience working in an Agile environment, SAFe familiarity.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Experience with database automation tools and scripting (Python, Bash).
• Experience triaging production incidents and support requests.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and optimise AWS Aurora PostgreSQL databases to ensure high availability and security.
• Design and implement database solutions in AWS Aurora PostgreSQL global databases using CDK and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support database-related needs and initiatives.
• Administer PostGIS and other extensions in AWS Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Maintain Postgres trusted language extensions (TLE) scripts and configurations.
• Have experience managing AWS resources using CDK/CloudFormation/Terraform in production.
