It is responsible for executing the Government's borrowing requirements and providing financial market expertise to the wider Crown. NZDM also contributes to the conduct of sustainable and stable fiscal policy. The debt programme provides the critical sovereign benchmark that supports the functioning of New Zealand’s financial markets.
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Portfolio Management team, based in Wellington. Portfolio Management is one of the functions of the New Zealand Debt Management team at the Treasury. The Portfolio Management team is responsible for managing the Crown's borrowing and liquidity needs, as well as providing corporate treasury services to government departments to manage financial market risks.

To be considered for this role, you will need to have significant financial markets experience and the ability to contribute to strategic risk management issues across the New Zealand Debt Management Directorate.
This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week) based in Wellington, New Zealand.
You will be a self-starter, who is comfortable working independently, and has demonstrable experience making effective decisions in complex situations and under time pressure. You will have five or more years of demonstrated experience managing complex risks across foreign exchange, interest rate and credit markets.
