New Zealand Government in Wellington seeks a Senior Advisor, Policy, to influence nationally significant policy and legislative reform shaping emergency management. In NEMA's Strategic Policy Team you will lead policy work across the full policy cycle and provide advice to Ministers and agency partners.

This permanent role offers the chance to implement the Emergency Management Act 2026, contribute to the National Emergency Management Plan and Strategy, and support cross-government initiatives;

Formación

• Experience scoping and leading policy advice using policy frameworks.
• Ability to develop policy advice strategically and anticipate trends.
• Excellent written capability and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and contribute to key policy work programmes across the full policy cycle.
• Support implementation of the Emergency Management Act 2026.
• Contribute to development of the National Emergency Management Plan and National Emergency Management Strategy.
• Provide policy advice to Ministers, senior leaders, and government agencies.
