Job summary

TBI Health is seeking a Senior Physiotherapist to join our Wellington Well at Work team. This dynamic, community-based role covers ACC Vocational Rehabilitation, early intervention and private vocational services across the Wellington region, with flexibility to shape the role to your strengths.

You’ll work autonomously within a collaborative team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Vocational Consultants, with option for full-time, part-time or hybrid arrangements to support

Qualifications

  • Registration as a Physiotherapist with a current NZ Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Experience managing vocational caseloads and coordinating return-to-work programmes.
  • Confidence working with employers, ACC and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage priorities and KPIs.
  • Experience using clinical IT systems and preparing vocational reports.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct vocational assessments and deliver work-focused rehabilitation.
  • Coordinate return-to-work programmes and workplace assessments.
  • Build strong relationships with employers, case managers and healthcare providers.
  • Deliver workplace education on manual handling, injury prevention and ergonomics.
  • Support growth and development of vocational rehabilitation services in Wellington.

About The Mahi (Role)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Senior Physiotherapist to join our Wellington Well at Work team.

This is a dynamic, community-based role with a varied caseload across ACC Vocational Rehabilitation, early intervention and private vocational services. You will work across the wider Wellington region, with opportunities to shape your role around your strengths and interests.

Enjoy the best of both worlds, with autonomy and flexibility in your day-to-day work alongside the support of a collaborative team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Vocational Consultants. You will also be part of both our Wellington Interdisciplinary Team and National Vocational Network.

This role can be full-time or part-time for the right candidate. There is also the option to create a hybrid role combining vocational work with community or clinic-based practice.

Key responsibilities include

  • Coordinating return-to-work programmes, including workplace assessments and job task analysis.
  • Building strong relationships with employers, case managers and healthcare providers.
  • Delivering workplace education and training in manual handling, injury prevention and ergonomics.
  • Supporting the growth and development of vocational rehabilitation services across the Wellington region.
Skills and Experiences
About You
  • Registration as a Physiotherapist with a current NZ Annual Practising Certificate and Indemnity Insurance.
  • Experience managing vocational caseloads and coordinating return-to-work programmes.
  • Confidence working with employers, ACC and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet KPIs and deliver quality outcomes.
  • Experience using clinical IT systems and preparing high-quality vocational reports.
  • The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to client-centred care and ongoing professional development.
  • A full, clean NZ driver’s licence and willingness to travel across the region.
