The role combines hands‑on mechanical product design with leadership across the full development lifecycle, from concept through validation and manufacture, involving supplier engagement and cross‑disciplinary collaboration with hardware, firmware and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Strong background in mechanical product design and development for technically complex electromechanical products.
• Experience leading or managing engineers.
• Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA) and design for testing (DFT).
• Ability to work across hardware, firmware and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing a small team of mechanical engineers.
• Managing project priorities, scheduling and engineering resource.
• Delivering against key quarterly programme milestones.
• Leading design reviews and evaluating technical options.
• Driving the design and optimisation of complex electromechanical assemblies.
• Considering thermal, EMI/EMC and electrical integration requirements within mechanical design.
• Planning and executing engineering verification and reliability testing.
• Writing test plans, technical reports and engineering documentation.
