Job summary

First Focus IT is seeking an experienced Laravel/PHP Developer to join our Technology team on a 12 month fixed term contract in Auckland. You will deliver robust business applications across customer engagements and internal initiatives using modern PHP, Laravel and Laravel Filament.

You will influence architecture, mentor peers and stay hands-on with development, while enjoying a dynamic, ever-changing project portfolio in a collaborative engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial experience with PHP and Laravel.
• Strong experience with Laravel Filament.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Excellent SQL skills across MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD and modern development workflows.
• Docker and cloud platform experience (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).

Responsibilities

• Develop Laravel applications across customer environments and internal platforms.
• Build scalable ERP and CRM solutions.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
• Build admin interfaces using Laravel Filament.
• Optimize MySQL/PostgreSQL databases for performance.
• Contribute to architecture and engineering standards.
• Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices.
• Work with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).
• Explore AI-assisted development where value is delivered.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge.
• Mentor developers and foster collaboration.
