Job summary

CMW Geosciences in Hamilton, Waikato, is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist to join NZ’s largest geotechnical team. You’ll contribute to a wide range of land development, energy, transport and infrastructure projects and work within a supportive, forward-looking office environment.

Ideal candidates will have a Civil Engineering, Geology or Earth Science degree, 5+ years in consultancy, strong project management and site investigation experience, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology or Earth Science.
• 5+ years of consultancy experience preferred.
• Strong organisation and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Lead site investigations, design input and technical advice.
• Provide construction support and client liaison throughout project delivery.
• Develop and manage scope with the Waikato team on land development, energy and infrastructure projects.

About the role

Following an internal transfer, our Hamilton office has an opportunity for an Intermediate or Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist to join the Waikato's largest geotechnical team.

This is a great opportunity to join a well-established Hamilton team with a strong forward workload, genuine career development pathways, and exposure to a broad range of technically interesting projects across the Waikato and central North Island.

We are looking for someone with strong project management capabilities and site investigation and construction management experience looking for an opportunity to build their career.

You will contribute to a diverse range of projects across key sectors including land development, energy, transport, and infrastructure, working alongside a collaborative and high-performing team of geotechnical professionals. The role will see you involved in all aspects of project delivery including site investigations, design input, technical advice, construction support and client liaison.

This is a true consultancy role, giving you the opportunity to build long-lasting relationships with clients, specialist contractors, other consultants and suppliers throughout New Zealand.

What You'll Need

• A Civil Engineering, Geology or Earth Science Degree
• Exceptional organisation and communication skills, both verbal and written
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a consultancy setting
• Experience managing large scale land developments will be looked on favourably
• Full New Zealand working rights
• Great interpersonal skills
