Job summary

AECOM's Contaminated Land team in Hamilton is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to apply and expand your technical and consulting skills across diverse projects, from transport alliances to site investigations. You will contribute to high-quality deliverables and client-focused solutions, with opportunities to progress to project management after training.

Qualifications

• Ideally 5+ years in contaminated land management, environmental site assessments (PSI/DSI) and/or remediation projects.
• High competency field skills including sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, surface water, and vapours/gas.
• Ability to plan and prepare deliverables to a high standard.
• Ability to transition between large multi-disciplinary projects and smaller single-issue commissions.
• A can-do attitude and willingness to get out of comfort zone.
• Collaborative, proactive and team-based mindset.
• Willingness to travel across New Zealand with a valid full driving licence.
• Experience using Excel and ArcGIS/Pro-UCL.

Job Description

Grow your career in this Senior Environmental Scientist role within AECOM's Contaminated Land team based in the Hamilton regional office.

You will be applying and building your technical and consulting skills on a range of projects including multi-disciplinary transport alliances, closed landfill assessment, preliminary and detailed site investigations, and more. This role provides broad career development opportunities as you will be joining an established team learning from AECOM's local and international technical leaders. You will be assisting with the delivery of environmental projects that are diverse and technically challenging, with a focus on high quality which support our clients' requirements.

In addition to the technical work you will deliver, there are opportunities to become a project manager (following completion of a training programme) and to be at the forefront of business development and building lasting client relationships.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or post graduate degree in environmental science, geology or related earth science subjects.
