Job summary

GHD in Wellington is seeking a Senior Planner to lead environmental planning efforts across transport, water, renewable energy and social infrastructure projects. You’ll manage consulting teams, coordinate with councils and clients, and contribute to proposals and business development.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Planning, NZPI membership, 8+ years of experience, strong communication skills, and proven project management capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Planning is required.
• NZPI full membership is desirable or in progress.
• Experience leading environmental planning for multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven project management experience, including budgets and scheduling.
• Experience in client management and business development is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to environmental assessments and planning applications for multidisciplinary projects.
• Act as Project Manager for routine projects, coordinating with stakeholders for client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with national planning team and coach less experienced planners.
• Contribute to proposals and pursue business development opportunities.
• Grow professionally through mentoring, training, and involvement in professional communities.
• Work flexibly in a collaborative and supportive GHD culture.
• Develop and implement consultation and engagement strategies when needed.
