Job summary

Jobtailor in Auckland seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to steer electrical projects across water, mining, and industrial sectors. You will lead design development for LV/MV systems, manage budgets, schedules, and resources, and mentor engineers and graduates.

You will build strong client relationships, contribute to proposals and tender submissions, and drive health, safety and quality excellence on complex capital projects in NZ and APAC markets.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrical Engineer with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive experience designing LV and MV electrical systems, power distribution and motor control.
• Experience delivering detailed electrical design for large capital projects.
• Knowledge of NZ/Australian Standards and Electrical Safety Regulations.
• Proven capability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver on time and budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of electrical projects and manage design scope, budgets, schedules, resources, and overall project execution
• Undertake and oversee detailed design of electrical systems for complex industrial and water projects
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, designers, and graduates
• Conduct technical reviews and design verification activities
• Support project delivery from planning through commissioning including estimates and procurement support
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to business growth through proposals and tenders
• Champion health, safety, and quality through risk assessments and design reviews
• Collaborate with process, mechanical, civil, structural, instrumentation, and controls teams
• Deliver solutions across water, wastewater, mining, industrial manufacturing, energy, and food sectors
