Job summary

WM New Zealand is seeking an experienced Electrical & Automation Senior Project Engineer to join our Engineering and Asset Management team. You will lead capital projects, plant upgrades, control system improvements, and reliability initiatives across WM's nationwide operations.

The role covers fixed plant assets including material recovery facilities, tyre recycling, landfill gas systems, transfer stations, and other critical infrastructure; you will design reviews, PLC programming, fault

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
6+ years in industrial/manufacturing environments.
Experience designing, troubleshooting and commissioning electrical power, control and automation systems.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical and automation capital projects end-to-end.
Design and manage upgrades to distribution, motor control and automation systems.
Develop PLC and HMI programs to improve performance.
Support fault finding and root cause analysis of complex issues.
Manage electrical and mechanical contractors and engineers.
Oversee commissioning and handover of systems.
Ensure compliance with NZ electrical regulations and standards.
