Job summary
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Christchurch is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist or Registered Nurse with ED/acute care experience for a 0.6 FTE fixed-term role from February 2027 to October 2027. This position emphasizes leadership, collaboration and delivering advanced nursing care in a large ED.
Applicants should have at least five years in emergency nursing, a relevant postgraduate qualification, and strong communication skills. Interviews are scheduled for Thursday 26 November.
Qualifications
- Five years of validated clinical experience in emergency nursing or acute care.
- Postgraduate qualification relevant to Emergency Nursing / Advanced Nursing Practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and with multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated initiative and time management to drive flow.
- PDRP at expert level or working towards status.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical care in the Emergency Department.
- Collaborate with nursing, medical staff and external agencies.
- Contribute to development of high-quality evidence-based emergency care.
- Mentor and support Nurse Practitioner interns during training.
- Demonstrate leadership and proactive problem-solving to improve patient flow.
