This hands-on role focuses on SQL Server 2022+ and Azure SQL, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and resilience across production environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to automation and knowledge sharing.

• Extensive hands-on SQL Server DBA experience in production.
• Strong SQL Server 2022+ expertise.
• Experience in Azure SQL environments.

• Troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Responsabilités

• Ensure production DB services are secure, highly available, recoverable, and performant.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex database incidents and performance issues.
• Manage monitoring, maintenance, backup/recovery, patching, upgrades, and capacity planning.
• Develop disaster recovery and business continuity strategies with testing/docs.
• Collaborate with application, cloud, infrastructure, and delivery teams to improve reliability.
• Drive operational excellence through automation, standards, and documentation.
• Contribute scripting and development to optimize database administration activities.
• Participate in an on-call roster and assist during priority incidents.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our team and play a key role in maintaining, securing, and optimizing critical database platforms. This is a hands‑on operational role focused on Microsoft SQL Server 2022+ and Azure SQL , where you will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, security, and resilience across production environments.The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver who thrives in complex environments, enjoys tackling challenging incidents, and is passionate about continuous improvement, automation, and knowledge sharing.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure production database services remain secure, highly available, recoverable, and performant.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex database incidents and performance issues.
• Manage database monitoring, maintenance, backup and recovery, patching, upgrades, and capacity planning activities.
• Develop and execute disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, including testing and documentation.
• Collaborate with application, cloud, infrastructure, and delivery teams to improve service reliability and operational efficiency.
• Drive operational excellence through automation, process improvements, standards, and documentation.
• Contribute scripting and development expertise to optimize database administration activities.
• Participate in an on‑call support roster and provide assistance during priority incidents as required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Extensive hands‑on experience as a SQL Server DBA within complex production environments.
• Strong expertise with Microsoft SQL Server 2022 or later.
• Proven experience managing and supporting Azure SQL environments.
• Strong skills in: Performance tuning and optimization
• Strong skills in: Database security and access management
• Strong skills in: Monitoring and health checks
• Strong skills in: Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
• Strong skills in: Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Experience working within formal Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management processes.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Microsoft Azure certifications.
• Experience with Azure Cosmos DB.
• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Experience with Azure Databricks.
• Exposure to Oracle Database and/or Oracle Rdb environments.
• Experience with database development, scripting, automation, and DevOps practices.
