Job summary

Salt in New Zealand is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering data, analytics and AI solutions. The role reports to the Director and collaborates with 18+ data engineers, a manager/lead and a cloud engineer.

You will develop data pipelines using GCP, Databricks, Snowflake and DBT, while maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to internal capability. The position is hybrid with flexible hours to suit projects.

Qualifications

• Experience with modern data stack and data engineering delivery.
• Strong client-facing communication and relationship building.
• Exposure to data, analytics, and AI projects in a consulting context.

Responsibilities

• Develop data engineering solutions for client projects.
• Maintain and nurture client relationships.
• Help grow internal data engineering capability for a senior.
• Document industry best practices for DE & analytics.
• Support sales with data engineering solutions for customers.
• Create service offerings based on NZ market.
• Work during normal business hours on billable client work.
