Job summary

Pearson Carter Limited seeks a Senior Data Developer to design and deliver scalable data solutions on Azure and Microsoft Fabric. You will lead client sessions, build ETL/ELT pipelines, craft SQL data models, Power BI reports, and robust APIs.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in data or software development, strong Python/C#/JS, experience with Azure data platforms, and up-to-date data modelling and BI skills. Visa sponsorship is available, with a hybrid working pattern in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Essential: five+ years software/data development experience; strong API/service skills.
• Experience with Python, C#, JavaScript and data platforms like Azure/Synapse.
• Proficient SQL, data modelling, ETL/ELT and Power BI capabilities.
• Clear communication to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Senior Data Developer Azure & Microsoft Fabric Visa Sponsorship Available

Responsibilities

• Lead client discovery sessions and translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Design and build ETL/ELT pipelines, SQL solutions and data models across Azure and Microsoft Fabric.
• Develop Power BI reporting that supports clear, informed business decisions.
• Write production-quality code and contribute to architecture, estimation and presales.
• Mentor developers and help shape effective AI-assisted development practices.

Experience

Essential:

• Strong software and/or data development experience, ideally five years or more.
• A software engineering foundation, including building applications, APIs or services using Python, C# or JavaScript.
• Experience with Microsoft data platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics or Microsoft Fabric.
• Strong SQL, data modelling, ETL/ELT and Power BI skills.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Advantageous:

• Consulting experience, including workshops and managing client expectations.
• Git, CI/CD, infrastructure as code and test-driven development.
• Mentoring, presales or practical experience with AI-assisted development tools.

Strong intermediate developers with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.

Salary

Competitive salary depending on experience:

• Intermediate: NZD 90,000–120,000
• Senior: NZD 120,000–150,000

Location
