Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Project/Construction Manager for a major data centre project in Invercargill, New Zealand. The role is FIFO/DIDO with location flexibility for the right candidate, embedding within the client team to ensure programme and quality delivery.

You will challenge performance, manage interfaces, and maintain the critical path while reporting on progress and risk mitigation. Strong leadership in a high‑value environment is essential.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years’ total experience in project and construction management.
• 8+ years delivering data centre projects specifically.
• General contractor background strongly preferred, or equivalent direct site experience in a senior delivery role.
• Thorough understanding of the full project lifecycle from mobilisation through to construction completion.
• Proven ability to manage GC, EC and MC interfaces and drive accountability across contractor and developer teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the client’s on-site representation, ensuring programme is delivered to standard, timeline and quality.
• Lead weekly and bi-weekly site visits and chair Developer roundtables.
• Hold the developer and contractor accountable to commitments and pursue acceleration where needed.
• Protect the critical path with rigour, surface blockers early, and ensure inspection readiness.
• Produce bi-weekly site visit reports, roundtable minutes, action logs and milestone updates.
