Job summary

Standards New Zealand in Wellington is seeking a commercially minded leader to join a busy leadership team for a high‑impact role at the heart of New Zealand’s standards system and economic infrastructure.

You will shape pricing, revenue, licensing and international engagement, lead a small team, manage key client relationships and partner with government agencies to drive public value.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial acumen with stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Experience in pricing, products/services and business development.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex delivery dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial strategy, pricing, revenue activity and business development.
• Oversee licensing, subscriptions, IP protection and new access models.
• Negotiate proposals, contracts, partnerships and commercial agreements; manage key relationships.
• Oversee international engagement with standards bodies and partners.
• Lead significant commissioned programmes and emerging-technology initiatives.
• Coordinate delivery through ministry shared services across legal, finance, procurement, marketing, CS and digital.
• Coach a specialist team (5 direct reports) and sustain delivery culture.
• Contribute to strategy, risk management and service delivery as part of leadership.
