Job summary

Chubb Life in New Zealand is seeking a Senior Claims Consultant to own a portfolio of Disability Income and TPD claims from decision through to helping people return to work. You will use Active Case Management to plan rehab with doctors and providers, making decisions within delegated authority and backing every choice with clear reasoning.

In this hybrid role, you will collaborate with Specialists, advisers and providers, guiding Case Managers through difficult conversations.

Qualifications

• Experience handling Disability Income and TPD claims.
• Ability to coordinate with doctors, providers and advisers.
• Experience presenting cases to a claims committee.

Responsibilities

• Decide Disability Income and TPD claims within delegated authority.
• Run complex return-to-work claims using Active Case Management.
• Build rehab plans with providers, with milestones and cost focus.
• Keep customers and advisers informed via regular proactive calls.
• Analyze complex financial information to ensure accurate assessments.
• Support Case Managers and escalate tough cases to the claims committee.

About the opportunity

Chubb Life is aiming to be New Zealand's number one life insurer, and how we handle claims is a big part of getting there. As Senior Claims Consultant, you'll own a portfolio of Disability Income and TPD claims, from the decision through to getting people back to work.

This isn't pushing paper. You'll use Active Case Management to plan rehab with doctors and providers, make decisions within your delegated authority, and back every one with clear reasoning.

You'll have the authority to make decisions, not just recommend them. You'll work the complex cases alongside specialists, advisers and providers, and guide our Case Managers through the hard conversations. It's a role where your experience actually gets used.
