Job description

We’re looking for a competent and motivated Architectural Draftsperson to join our tight-knit team at Compound ( www.compound.co.nz ), to lead the architectural drafting work within our Queenstown’s award-winning construction company specialising in complex, high-performance luxury homes.

At Compound we don’t do standard builds. We tackle complex builds on complex sites across the Queenstown-Lakes area, delivering warm, enduring homes that families love and that perform as long-term investments. Our work is grounded in deep build science, including Passive House principles and energy-efficient, high-performance construction.

You’ll be working on beautiful, technically demanding projects where attention to detail, quality outputs, and problem-solving on challenging sites are essential.

About you:

• Qualified Architectural Draftsperson with solid experience in residential construction.
• Strong skills in problem solving and communication.
• Pride in producing clean, precise work.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently.
• Interest in (or willingness to learn) Passive House standards and energy-efficient building practices is a big plus.

What we offer:

• Work on unique, premium projects with interesting challenges and a strong interface with on-site logistics.
• Join a knowledgeable team that values build science and doing things properly.
• Competitive pay and a supportive, local Queenstown-based crew.
• Be part of a company founded by brothers Josh and Drew Atkins, focused on creating homes that truly last.

If you’re a competent Architectural Draftsperson who enjoys pushing your skills on high-end, technically interesting builds and want to be part of a team that’s serious about performance and quality, we’d love to hear from you.
