Job summary

Tribe Group in Auckland is seeking an analytics engineer who will own curated datasets, semantic models and reporting layers, delivering trusted, scalable analytics products across Microsoft Fabric, Databricks and Power BI.

You will partner with stakeholders to translate operational needs into robust solutions and contribute to emerging AI-enabled capabilities, including AI-ready data assets and research workflows. The role offers a hybrid setup with 2–3 days in the Auckland CBD office.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on SQL and analytics engineering experience.
• Semantic models and governed metrics for Power BI.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and changing priorities.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong hands-on SQL and proven analytics engineering / BI delivery experience
• Practical capability building semantic models and governed metrics for Power BI
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks (lakehouse/warehouse patterns, pipelines, notebooks)
• Confidence working through ambiguity, technical debt, shifting priorities and stakeholder change
• Solid engineering habits: Git, testing/validation, documentation, and DataOps-style delivery
