Job summary

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is seeking a Senior Analyst to join the Licensing and Authorisations team in Wellington. The role focuses on implementing the Deposit Takers Act and establishing a new licensing capability for regulated entities.

You will analyse business processes, develop requirements, manage risks, and contribute to regulatory decision-making within a collaborative workplace that supports flexible working.

Qualifications

• Broad-based experience in a bank, insurer or other financial institution or supervisory authority is preferred.
• Understanding of legal, accounting and economic environments within financial institutions is ideal.
• Experience in continuous improvement, business analysis and/or project management.
• An understanding of regulatory frameworks and regulatory decision-making.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic and conceptual skills and creative thinking.

Senior Analyst - Licensing and AuthorisationsThe Reserve Bank is preparing to implement the Deposit Takers Act ('DTA') which is new legislation to replace and update the legislation through which we regulate and supervise deposit takers. The DTA will contribute to a productive and sustainable economy by protecting and promoting the stability of the financial system.This is an exciting time as Te Putea Matua continues to transform, setting up to meet an evolving mandate and purpose. The primary focus for this permanent role will be to help implement new licensing frameworks for deposit takers. This role provides the opportunity to join us in a programme of work that is key to Te Putea Matua's transformation.Te turanga - The roleThe Financial Stability group is responsible for ensuring that financial institutions are licensed, effectively regulated and supervised, and where applicable, enforcement action is taken.Te Putea Matua is looking for a Senior Analyst to join the Licensing and Authorisations team.
