Job summary

Whare Tiaki Hauora, an Maaori health provider based in Taamaki Makaurau, seeks an experienced Kaiaarahi/Clinical practitioner for a fixed-term, full-time role reporting to the Team Leader. You will be the key contact for partner schools, building strong kura relationships and assessing tamariki hinengaro wellbeing, delivering school-based and whaanau support.

Qualifications

• Registered health or social practitioner with current license.
• Experience across health, schools, and education sectors.
• Proven ability to deliver in varied, complex environments.
• Ability to analyze a situation and provide clinically sound solutions.
• Proven leadership in cross-agency collaboration.
• Understanding of health inequities affecting tamariki and whaanau; commitment to equity.
• Working knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application.
• Hold a current full driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with partner schools and communities.
• Assess tamariki and whaanau hinengaro wellbeing needs and plan appropriate responses (Hua Oranga).
• Deliver whole-school, group, and individual wellbeing support.
• Work hands-on with whaanau to understand needs and respond effectively.
• Design and adapt practical, evidence-informed programmes for schools and whaanau.
• Serve as clinical contact for Kia Ora Ake queries and contribute to risk management.
• Support schools to build capacity for tamariki wellbeing.
• Collaborate with Mana Whenua i Taamaki Makaurau and other sectors.
• Maintain clear, confidential client records.
