GENERAL SUMMARY
  • The Scheduling Coordinator II is responsible for coordinating overall service area schedules and activities. Serves as a patient liaison for scheduling of services. Reports to the Practice Manager/Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serves as a patient liaison for scheduling of services.
  • Responsible for accurate data collection, documentation, and data retrieval.
  • Provides clerical, secretarial and project management functions for the service area.
  • Interfaces and communicates with multiple departments.
  • Performs billing procedures including verifying patient insurance, following up on referrals, checking authorizations, collecting co-payments, and verifying guarantor and proper collection steps.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
  • None required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Ability to relate well with the public.
  • Ability to effectively gather and exchange information in both oral and written communications with proper grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple schedules based on individual preferences and guidelines.
  • Ability to utilize scheduling software and maintain updated schedules.
  • Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetical or numeric systems.
  • Computer skills required and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
