Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an Alcohol and Other Drug Practitioner to join the Wairoa Community Mental Health and Addiction Services team. Based in Wairoa, you will provide assessment, intervention, treatment and recovery support to people affected by alcohol and other drug use, operating within a trauma-informed, recovery-focused framework.

You will work autonomously while being supported by a wider Hawke's Bay multidisciplinary team, delivering evidence-based interventions,

Qualifications

• Current professional registration and APC relevant to your discipline.
• Experience working within addiction, mental health, or community health services.
• Postgraduate qualifications in addiction, mental health, or a related field.
• DAPAANZ registration or eligibility.
• Experience working in rural, community, or specialist addiction services.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, intervention, treatment and recovery support to people impacted by alcohol and other drug use.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions, screening and brief interventions, and recovery planning.
• Support withdrawal management and build partnerships with community agencies and whānau.
• Work autonomously within a wider Hawkes Bay multidisciplinary team.
