Job summary

Hotel St Moritz, MGallery in Queenstown invites applicants to join our luxury housekeeping team. You will deliver pristine room cleaning and uphold the high standards of a 5-star property, ensuring guest comfort and satisfaction.

Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with training provided. The role requires teamwork, attention to detail, physical endurance, and warm guest interaction to support five-star service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months 5 star/luxury experience.
• Fluent English communications and guest interaction.

Responsibilities

• Clean guest rooms, corridors, storage areas to upscale 5-star standards.
• Replenish supplies and materials in rooms per type.
• Report lost property and any issues per procedures.
• Carry out regular cleaning duties and assist with turnovers.
• Handle guest laundry as per hotel policy.
• Use and maintain cleaning equipment with care and safety.

Job Description

Your Luxury Purpose: Deliver heartfelt care and sanctuary for guests in the provision of beautifully cleaned and serviced rooms.

A hands on role with training provided, your shifts will include the cleaning of guest rooms to the expected standard of an upscale 5-star property.

You are friendly and engaging, with a real eye for detail. We are looking for team players and are able to work in a physically demanding role.

• Clean guest rooms, storage areas and corridors as allocated.
• Ensure guest supplies and advertising material in bedrooms and bathrooms are replenished to the correct standards for the room type.
• Report any lost property following correct.
• Carry out programmed / regular cleaning duties as allocated.
• Ensure guest laundry is handled in line with Hotel policy.
• Use and clean equipment with care, reporting any defective equipment as set down in procedures manual.
• Ensure all department equipment is maintained to a high standard.
• Assist with regular equipment stocktaking.
• Ensure the security of keys and guest rooms at all times by adherence to security procedures. Report any suspicious persons or items to Supervisor.
• Understand the correct usage and storage of cleaning agents in line with health and safety regulations and manufacturers instructions.
• Assist guests with any requests for information or service they require. Refer any requests out of your authority to your supervisor.
• Assist in providing our guests with turn down service.
• Clean balconies, balcony furniture and railings.
• Clean carpets.
• Responsible for de-scaling shower heads, bleach grouting in bathroom and toilets and general upkeep of bedrooms.
• Help colleagues when necessary (extra beds, bed boards, make beds)
• Engage warmly with guests, using emotional intelligence and initiative to support in five star luxury service.
• Ability to work alone when required cleaning rooms.

• You will have a real eye for detail and be willing and able to uphold high standards in cleanliness.
• You are self motivated and enjoy working autonomously.
• You can co-ordinate various tasks simultaneously.
• Must hold a clean police record
