Job summary

NZTA | Waka Kotahi is seeking a roading Construction Practice Lead to be the go-to expert for roading construction standards. You'll provide technical advice, align practices across teams, and lead initiatives to improve quality and efficiency across New Zealand's transport network.

This permanent role offers a salary from 148,000 to 180,000 NZD per year, with flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional membership preferred.
• Ability to translate technical standards into practical applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on roading construction standards to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to align standards with maintenance needs.
• Develop and maintain knowledge resources for best practice methods.
• Establish and lead a Community of Practice to share knowledge.
• Partner with suppliers and contract managers to implement innovative techniques.
• Research emerging technologies to improve roading outcomes.
