Alignerr is seeking a PhD-level Applied Physicist to shape how AI understands physical systems. You will craft challenging physics problems and provide gold-standard solutions, while auditing model outputs for consistency and correctness.

This fully remote, flexible hourly contract offers 10–40 hours per week on projects that push the boundaries of AI reasoning in physics, with potential for ongoing work and extension.

Qualifications

• PhD-level Applied Physicists with deep domain expertise.
• Ability to explain complex physics and derivations clearly in English.
• Experience working independently and asynchronously.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced physics problems requiring multi-step reasoning across quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, and thermodynamics.
• Draft rigorous, step-by-step gold-standard solutions with precise units and constants.
• Audit AI outputs for physical consistency and identify violations of physical laws.
