Job summary

MedRecruit Limited in New Zealand is seeking a Registrar in General Medicine for a mostly Monday to Friday, 8-4 role in the Wellington region. You’ll be the lone Registrar in a small team with direct contact to the SMO physician group, offering wide scope for learning and leadership.

The position is rotational across Wellington Region hospitals, including Masterton, with opportunities to rotate to other sites after the year.

Responsibilities

• Provide general medicine care as sole Registrar with support from SMO team
• Rotational postings across Wellington region hospitals
• Lead and learn under the SMO physician team
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and handovers

Job description

This is a unique opportunity with mostly Mon-Fri 8-4 shifts. You’ll be a lone Registrar in General Medicine with a small team and have a great opportunity to lead and learn - direct contact with the SMO physician team and other teams provide a wide scope of learning! This role is suitable for a PGY3 or perhaps a fresh UK/IE F3 looking for something a little rural with a big opportunity to shine.

There is subsidised shared Registrar accommodation available.

Wellington Region RMO positions are rotational across multiple hospitals, including Wellington Regional, Kenepuru, Hutt Valley and Masterton Hospital which means that you may rotate to these sites after your year at Masterton if you wish.

Regional specialties cover General Medicine, Cardiology, Medical Oncology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Immunology, Rehabilitation, Rheumatology, Haematology, HOP and Acute HOP, Nephrology, Infectious Diseases, Geriatrics, Respiratory, Renal, Neurology, and Palliative Care.

Recently having moved into a brand new, fully equipped, purpose built building, this hospital strives to provide the highest standard of 24-hour acute and emergency services. Set in the heart of the Wairarapa region, this teaching hospital provides a full range of secondary medical, surgical and O&G services.
