About the role

Ward 11 Rehabilitation/Transition Mental Health Unit is a 10‑bed ward supporting individuals on their mental health recovery journey. It provides a rehabilitation/sub‑acute setting for adults with long‑term mental illness and co‑existing conditions. Ward 11 is currently undergoing a period of change and exploring alternative environments.

Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Southern provides services to 350,000 people across diverse communities in the South Island. Our aim is to improve, promote and protect the health of our region.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • registration with the Nursing Council of NZ
  • a current APC with a scope that allows you to practice in mental health
  • exceptional communication skills with a non‑judgmental manner and a positive attitude
  • additional clinical skills in the areas of physical health and addictions (a significant advantage)
  • experience working within an adult mental health environment with rehabilitation experience an advantage
