Job summary

Cgr Services in Papakura is seeking an experienced AOD Clinician for a part-time role (24 hours per week, Monday to Friday). You will work in a community-based service supporting adults 18+. The role emphasizes holistic, culturally responsive care delivered within a dual Peer Support and Clinician model.

You will assess, plan and deliver recovery-focused interventions, collaborating with Peer Support Specialists to support individual goals and recovery in a trauma-informed framework.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in AOD and/or mental health.
• Current DAPAANZ registration preferred.
• First Aid with CPR certification.
• Full NZ driver's license.

Are you an experienced AOD clinician looking for a role where your clinical skills, compassion and commitment to recovery can create meaningful change?

Our client is one of Aotearoa’s leading for-purpose organisations, delivering services across mental health, addiction, disability, offender rehabilitation, wellbeing and housing. They are looking for an AOD Clinician to join their Papakura-based team in a permanent, part-time position working 24 hours per week (48 hours per fortnight), Monday to Friday .

About the role

This is an opportunity to work within a community-based Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) service supporting adults aged 18 and over.

The service takes a flexible, community-focused approach, meeting people in places where they feel safe and comfortable – including whānau homes, local parks and community living environments.

You’ll work as part of a dual Peer Support and Clinician model, partnering closely and equally with Peer Support Specialists. Together, you’ll provide holistic, culturally responsive assessment, treatment and outreach that recognises the individual, their strengths and their recovery goals.

What you’ll be doing

• Complete comprehensive AOD assessments and develop individualised, recovery-focused treatment plans.
• Provide therapeutic interventions tailored to each person’s needs, strengths and goals.
• Work collaboratively with Peer Support Specialists to deliver person-centred care.
• Build effective relationships with whānau, community organisations and other support services.
• Assess and respond to risk, including developing appropriate safety and relapse-prevention plans.
• Maintain clear, accurate and timely clinical records.
• Facilitate or co‑facilitate group education and recovery programmes.
• Contribute to a service that is culturally responsive, trauma‑informed and grounded in recovery principles.

About you

You’re a skilled and compassionate clinician who understands the complexities of addiction and is passionate about helping people achieve sustainable change.

Ideally, you’ll bring

• Current DAPAANZ registration (preferred).
• 2+ years’ experience working in AOD and/or mental health settings.
• Strong knowledge of addiction, recovery and therapeutic frameworks.
• Experience completing clinical assessments, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions.
• Demonstrated experience supporting people experiencing substance use challenges.
• CurrentFirst Aid certification including CPR , or the willingness and ability to obtain this.
• Afull, clean New Zealand driver licence .
