The unit covers the disciplines of Radiation Oncology, Clinical Haematology and Medical Oncology.This role provides an opportunity to contribute to the cancer treatment development process through clinical trials. Key responsibilities include:* Recruiting patients to clinical trials* Providing education to patients and staff* Undertaking patient assessments and investigations* Providing clinical nursing care* Administering investigational drugs, including chemotherapy, and other treatment modalities* Completing data collection and reporting* Coordinating clinical trial studies* Working closely with patients, the multidisciplinary team and external sponsorsThis is a 0.8 FTE position, with rostered shifts from Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 4.30pm.**About you**We are looking for a dynamic and resilient Registered Nurse who has:* A minimum of four years' broad nursing experience* A current New Zealand practising certificate* Current experience in clinical research* Current Good Clinical Practice R3 certification* Strong communication and clinical assessment skills* Sound computer and electronic systems skillsCurrent or previous experience in blood and cancer nursing, particularly clinical research experience within the Blood and Cancer service, would be an advantage. Education and training will be provided to the successful applicant.**About the Team/Service**The Regional Cancer Treatment Service Clinical Trials Unit supports clinical trials across Radiation Oncology, Clinical Haematology and Medical Oncology.You will join a committed and supportive team that works collaboratively to provide care and coordination for patients at every stage of their clinical trial journey.
