About the Role and Team

About the Service/Location

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Lakes provides healthcare from its two modern and progressive general hospitals in Rotorua and Taupō, New Zealand. Rotorua Hospital is a medium-sized secondary Maternity Service and Taupō Maternity is a primary unit. Our maternity services provide care for birthing women in the Lakes region, with around 1350 births taking place in our facilities per annum. Women requiring tertiary level care are transferred out. Midwives can work across their scope of practice by providing care to ante and postnatal inpatients and outpatients and work alongside their midwife LMC colleagues to provide secondary intrapartum care. We pride ourselves on being quality and improvement focussed with whānau always at the forefront of our care.

The Lakes district is becoming the lifestyle destination of choice and is well known for its many outdoor recreational activities, family friendly beaches, and a growing multi-cultural community. Working at Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Lakes provides a great opportunity to balance an amazing lifestyle with a rewarding professional experience.
